Safeguard is a game where you are trying to save the planet from certain destruction by asteroids. You must destroy them before they hit the surface of the planet, while overcoming the planet's own gravity, which can cause your death as well. Every asteroid that hits the planet's surface detracts from the planet's population (and your score). You lose when your ship takes too much damage. Powerups can heal you or give you other bonuses.
